Dead Space (the Silent Hero)

Dead Space is here as I’m sure many people have picked up (just as I have) and have already enjoyed it plenty. It’s truly a fabulous game, but one question was lingering around before it’s release quite a bit, is it scary? It’s supposed to be a quite frightening game, but I have come up with an answer. No. It isn’t scary. However, it is very unnerving.

WipEout HD

Wow, been a long time since I posted anything, guess I’ve been busy. Been working on several projects along with doing a lot of gaming. With the new tv and HDMI cables the world of HD has engrossed me. Watching HD shows now and taking full advantage of my PS3/360. Lately though, it’s been all about the PS3. That will soon change with Dead Space, Gears 2, Banjo and Kazooie, finally purchasing Silent Hill…

Lego Batman

After enjoying Lego Indiana Jones quite a bit over the summer and having fun collecting absolutely everything in it, it was a no brainer for me to grab Lego Batman. After all, Lego Batman was every kids hero growing up in the 90’s and no one ever made a good Batman game. What gives? Finally, as cliche as it may sound, a good Batman game has arrived. Not as good as it could be, but it’s enjoyable.

Flash Breakout Clone

I’ve been doing Flash work like crazy lately, it’s my new craze. My last post was a little flash toy that I made, just me having fun with some different Flash drawing things and figuring out how things work. This time I’ve taken a stab at a classic remake. So this was a test of my Flash work along with figuring out the game itself.

Spore Afterthoughts

I’m basically done with Spore, Rock Band 2 is here now and I’ve evolved enough. Maybe one day I’ll go back to it. But how was it? It started off as a great, exciting journey but fell short a bit quicker than I would have liked it to. Here’s how I felt.

Spore = Amazing

Picked up spore two days ago, it’s awesome fun. Except for the tribes stage, that wasn’t super awesome fun, but it wasn’t horrible. However, the rest of the game has been extremely fascinating and I love it. I’m in the space stage of my first planet, there are many planets you can play through and conquer if you don’t know and the space stage is the last and from what I’ve read, also the best. So I’m looking forward to it, however, I had to give my hand a break from fierce mouse action for like 20 hours in the last 2 days because this game has got me so addicted. I’ll full review after I’m done and have a good opinion, but for now some screen shots of my creations.

Castle Crashers

Haven’t posted in a few days, been busy working on 2 things. 1. Castle Crashers. 2. A portfolio site/finding a job. Those 2 basically go together. But, most importantly, I just want to take a second to mention Castle Crashers.

Timed Button Sequences

In the early days of gaming the timed button sequence was non very popular. I don’t want to say that it was non-existent, because I imagine that someone, somewhere had the idea, I just don’t know about it off hand. But then a game called ‘God of War’ was released that really took timed button sequences to the max. Later that same year was ‘Resident Evil 4’ which used them in a slightly different, but totally awesome way. Especially for a franchise like Resident Evil, this added a ton to the gameplay. But since then it’s gone a bit downhill; at least for me.

Galaga Legions

If you’re a fan of hardcore shooters and a 360 owner, look no further for your next game to master. Galaga Legions is a finely tuned shooter and will having you working hard to master patterns, but also craving more and more. I have to admit right off the bat I haven’t gotten very far in this game yet, because I haven’t mastered a lot of it yet, but this is a really awesome game.

Braid

Braid released last week on Xbox Live Arcade and I picked up the demo to find a quite interesting game. But the steep ($15) price tag for an arcade game made me question whether I would actually buy it or not. It wasn’t until earlier this week when I heard from some friends how great it was that I jumped on it and trust me it was amazing. I actually meant to write this up yesterday because that’s when I finished it, but I got caught up in working on some of those Dead Rising achievements I never acquired before. Back to Braid though.
