It’s been a movie week for sure, hitting up some old classics and some new pieces as well. Gonna give a quick lowdown for all of the following now: ‘The Big Lebowski’, ‘Bulworth’, ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’, ’30 Days of Night’ and ‘Just Add Water.’ Gonna try to keep each one short, but you know how good I am at that…

The Big Lebowski; a classic. I believe this movie is in the list of the top 100 greatest movies of all time? I could be wrong, I didn’t double check my sources, but it’s an amazing movie. Hilarious and crazy on all levels. No faults at all here, but you’ve probably already seen it.

Bulworth; a big surprise. After years of seeing the Ghetto Superstar video I felt that I should watch the movie, it was on hulu anyways so no harm done if it was no good. This movie really caught me off guard and maybe it’s half because I was expecting so little from it, but it was truly amazing. Probably wouldn’t be half as good the second time and I don’t plan on watching it a second time, but if you haven’t seen it I’m sure you’ll get some good laughs out of it.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; another surprise. I’ve heard good things about this movie, but it never sounded like something I would enjoy. It turned out to be a pretty crazy movie with a ton going on. There’s no way I could sum it up in any way (not that I have with the above movies anyways), but it was a solid flick. It had a lot of depth while always feeling lightweight. It took some thinking about to decide how I felt after seeing it, but I definitely give it my two thumbs up.

30 Days of Night; literally just finished it. Based off a comic I’ve never read (or graphic novel if you prefer the term), I was excited for a modern day horror that I had heard to actually be good. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. This was a pretty solid vampire flick. As it went on I was constantly wondering where it was going to go as the town got ripped to shreds, but in the end it worked out well. I wasn’t a fan of the way the vampires were visually represented, but I can’t think of any movies where I really liked the way they portrayed vampires. I could never get enough of the lopping off of heads with the axe in this one though.

Just Add Water; rented it because the kid from Superbad was in it and the infamous Danny Devito. Somtimes, you have to trust your instinct. Seeing these two actors in here let me know I was in for a treat. I had never heard anything of this movie, but it ended up being quite the interesting trip. There were all kinds of awkward moments and enjoyable humor. It didn’t feature as much of the Superbad style inappropriate humor as I expected, but it was an interesting experience. I recommend taking a stab at it.

Well, that’s been my last few days aside from Oblivion and running around to all different places. Just the main story left to finish in Oblivion and then I’ll be posting up another 1000! Woohoo, check out these movies if you don’t know ‘em and keep checkin back for more fun news!
